Sh. Sarabajit Singh Virk,
Managing Director Des Pardes Weekly from England
paid visit to the office of NRI Sabha Punjab at
Jalandhar on 26.08.2008. He was given warm
welcome by the Office Bearers & Staff of NRI
Sabha. He was honoured by Sh. Kamaljit Singh
Hayre President, Sh. Zorawar Singh Dodd V.C.
(Advisory), Sh. Parminder Singh Hayre Secretary,
Mr. Didar Singh Bhandal, Sh. Sucha Singh Mast
PCS (Rtd.) Executive Director, Sh. S.P.Gulati
Director Resource Management NRI Sabha Punjab.
Sh. Virk expressed hope
that the new President and his Team of Office
Bearers of NRI Sabha will continue their efforts
to improve the working & image of NRI Sabha.
He indicated that the NRIs in foreign countries
are now feeling very happy and encouraged with
the steps taken such as opening of NRI Police
Stations, Fast Track Revenue Courts for the
cases of NRIs, attention being paid to their
problems by holding meetings by Deputy
Commissioners & Senior Superitendents of
Police, publication of NRI monthly newsletter.
He also assured Sh. Kamaljit Singh Hayre
President NRI Sabha Punjab to give priority to
the publication of NRI Sabha activities and
other connected news in the Des Pardes Weekly
published from U.K.

Assistance Provided to Various NRIs by NRI Sabha
Case
1 :
Dr. Mohinder
Singh NRI from USA came to NRI Sabha Office with
his problem of illegal/forcible occupation of
property owned by NRI in Industrial Area Jalandhar.
His complaint was taken up with the Deputy
Commissioner and Senior Superintendent of Police
Jalandhar. With the efforts made by the NRI Sabha
as well as by NRI Mohinder Singh himself by
seeking guidance from NRI Sabha Office from time
to time, an FIR under section 427, 448, 447, 148,
149 IPC etc has since been registered and Dr.
Mohinder Singh has thanked NRI Sabha for the
assistance provided to him.
Case
2 :
NRI from Canada
Sh. Baldev Singh made a complaint to the NRI Sabha
Punjab against certain persons of his village in
Tehsil Jagraon Distt.
Ludhiana regarding demolition of a wall.
His complaint was taken up by the Sabha with
Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana and with the action
taken by the Sabha in co-ordination with the
Administration, a compromise has since been
reached between the parties as informed by the
Deputy Commissioner Ludhiana vide his letter dated
30.07.2008.
Case
3 :
One Sh. Sarup
Singh Dhillon from U.K. member of NRI Sabha Punjab
approached the NRI Sabha Office about the problem
of mutation of their property as they were facing
unnecessary harassment at different levels on
flimsy grounds. The representatives of NRI who
came to this office was provided proper advice by
the experts available in NRI Sabha Office and he
has now given a letter of thanks to the President
NRI Sabha Punjab Sh. Kamaljit Singh Hayre on
12.08.08 in this regard which is reproduced
